Controversial Big Brother Flop Maneta Back In Harare

Zimbabwean Big Brother Stargame housemate Maneta Mazanhi, who made a quiet entrance into Zimbabwe on Friday evening, June 22, 2012, appeared on radio and TV shows yesterday, June 25, saying she was misunderstood when she said things about her country on the show.
Maneta made many instant haters when she seemed to diss Zimbabwe on the show, including talking about rampant corruption.
The ousted reality TV personality spoke on the ZBC Star Kids TV show yesterday afternoon during a whirlwind day that saw her also do interviews on PowerFM and StarFM which incidentally started it’s broadcasting today.
Afraid of a possible backlash from angered Big Brother Africa Fans who blame her for the disqualification of Rokifrom the show which has prize money of US$300 000, Maneta’s family had her brought in quietly with no media or fanfare.
Speaking to journalists last week, Zimbabwe Youth Council Vice Chairman Acie Lumumba, said that he had spoken to Maneta’s parents and they had expressed concern about their daughter’s safety. “They are very worried that she may get hurt,” he said.
He said he had also spoken to Maneta over the phone in South Africa and she had expressed her regret about the incident that had led to the disqualification of both her and Roki from the house.
Maneta and Roki were thrown off the show by Big Brother on Tuesday June 19 after their stormy on screen relationship hit a new low when the latter poured water on the former and the former retaliated by pouring detergent on Roki’s face.
On the StarFM show, both Maneta and Roki were interviewed by Tich Mataz and said they were cool with each other. Maneta apologised for the umpteenth time in between jovial banter with Roki and Tich.
On PowerFM radio earlier on she had issued her first broadcast apology to Zimbabwe and Africa for her part in the disqualification of her fellow Zimbabwean housemate.
She denied the rumours going round that she is dating a named businessman. Speaking about the house she said that it was tougher being there than it looked. Her strategy in the game was to take each day as it came. Commenting on the housemates she said that she thought Goldie was too dramatic.
She said Upville was full of backstabbers and schemers and conceded that the real show happened there, “Downville is more of a waiting area before the game starts.”
Who does she think will win the show? Her picks are Keagan or Wati.
She ended the interview with the words; “I love you Zimbabwe!”
