What I Would Do With USD 300 000-Do StarGamers Mean It?

With USD 300 000 on one’s account, a lot of things come into play, questions and suggestions occupy the mind as one tries to figure out what they should do with such an amount of money.
At the end of 91 days in the StarGame, one housemate will be USD 300 000 richer. However, some of the housemates already have plans laid out as regards how they are going to spend the money. Some of them are just waiting to get to that bridge and figure out how to negotiate it.
Some housemates have interesting plans for the money in case they manage to hit the jackpot come August 5th 2012, but do these StarGamers really mean what they say? While others say that they would contribute towards charity, others think of sharing the money, investment and spending.
“If I won 300 000 grands, I would just go to the Bahamas and check the women and have fun,” said Kyle. The StarGamer seems to have his plans already laid down and only time will tell if he does exactly that in case he wins the money.
“If I win the money I want to buy my self a cute little house back home in Namibian because am tired of paying rent,” said Lady May.
“I want to start my music career which am dying to do,” said Jannette.
“I want to set up a company which is gonna push music,” said Keitta.
“If I win the money, I will definitely give a huge chunk to my parents…,” said Alex.
Well, these are just some of the individual StarGamers’ plans in case they win the money. Not everyone that makes a plan goes through with it, while mother forget about it, others simply take long to implement it.
Do these housemates really mean what they say? Do they execute these plans at the end of the day? Well, you can never be sure of that.

Video:Daybreak: Physically Fit!

After a games night, it was difficult for the Housemates to wake up for exercises.

With only four at this morning's session, the trainer challenged them to strength training and Lady May obviously had no problem with all the stretches.

Meanwhile, once the exercise session was over, Lady May and Goldie busied themselves with the House chores while the rest of the Housemates were still asleep.

Will the ex Downvillers ever keep up with the Upvillers?

The Namibia-Kenya Connection

Namibian Big Brother housemate Junia (23) and her 22-year-old student beau, Malonza from Nairobi, Kenya, wasted no time in getting comfortable in the BBA house where they each lived it up and each had their fair share of lip locks and steamy embraces.

The Namibian chatted to the loved-up pair of 'friends' to find out if their union created any beef in the house, if kissing their way through the game was a strategy and if there'll be any Namibia-Kenya collaborations in future...

Malonza

Final year Business Administration student, the hunky Malonza entered the game with his brother Alex. On entering the house he said he was, 'tired of being a groupie' and had set his sights on stardom.

Some may describe you as a bit of a womaniser. Would you agree?
CAPITAL LETTER, underline, bold, italics - NO! I don't even really know what that means but I am definitely not one.

Well, that would be a guy who has relationships with several different women in a short period of time. Kind of like you had with Edith, Jannette and Junia. Which of your BBA ladies did you like most?
Well, just like a princess needs to kiss a bunch of frogs before getting to her prince, I kissed a couple of the ladies before getting to Junia. We have this chemistry that is simply undeniable. She makes everything interesting, she makes me smile and she makes me happy.

Your brother Alex seems to think that your relationship with Junia was the reason you were evicted. Why do you think you got the boot?
I've been trying to figure that one out but I still haven't gotten to a conclusion. I guess maybe the fans were tired of us, just being in the house. Maybe they were eager to meet us and so wanted us out.

What did you learn from your BBA experience?
I learned that I can contain and keep myself together in a stressful environment. I managed to keep my composure, I never fought with anybody so I realised that I can be myself and keep it together.

What will you take away from this experience?
The whole experience. It was truly a once in a lifetime thing. Also my friendship with Junia.

Mmh, on that note, have you and Junia decided on the official status of your relationship yet?
I have made it clear that we are definitely friends. That is the main ingredient in this dish and that is what we will take away from the experience. We are both single and enjoying ourselves. We still feel the same way about each other, we're just two crazy people.

Do you think there will be more of a Kenya-Namibia connection in future?
Most def! There is a Kenya-Namibian connection. A friendship which is very important in both our lives. Imagine spending so much time in the house and leaving with no connections, no one to talk to... In Junia, I have found a friend who is a girl.

We definitely plan to visit each other. I'd love to come to Namibia, it will be one of my main stops and I have already invited Junia to come and experience some Nairobi flavour.

What is your opinion of the other Namibian house mate, Lady May?
When we first came to Upville, the vibe from her was a bit off and as the week progressed, she seemed to be more fake. I didn't enjoy her company but then you can't judge people by what they do. She did some things out of the ordinary and well, I'm really not sure. I haven't watched her on the outside. Something simply wasn't resonating with a number of the house mates which is probably why they keep nominating her.

Who do you think will win?
Obviously I am rooting for my brother, he's interesting and at the end of the day the money still trickles down to me. Keagan may win - I will not be surprised, and Talia is a really great person, she is who she is and she is awesome. I am rooting for her.

What next for you?
I will definitely concentrate on finishing my studies. I still have a semester to go before I graduate. I am interested in entrepreneurship and being self-employed. That mixed with some entertainment, perhaps acting - who knows, I will go with it.

Junia

Receptionist and student Junia, describes herself as fun, loving, hard-headed and phenomenal and says she is easy-going and understanding, although a bit of a hard nut to crack...

How does it feel to be out of the house?
Well, it feels weird - back to reality. At the same time, it's overwhelming and exciting.

Which is better, Downville or Upville?
Downville baby! I liked it more because it was so ghetto! Relaxed, with an awesome atmosphere and lots of fun. Upville was a bit too reserved, almost too classy. Being around celebrities was weird because they had their fans already, they were famous before entering the house and had to behave in a certain way while nobody knew us in Downville, so we could do whatever we wanted.

How would you describe your Big Brother experience?
It was the most exciting experience ever! Awesome, fantastic and crazy.

What did you learn about yourself through it?
Before entering the house, I never thought I was an emotional person but while in the house I think I got in contact with the emotional side of Junia. I cried a few times and that is OK, to be sad sometimes. I also have to thank Keagan for having all those fights with me. He helped me realise that I can stand up for myself and that is the most important lesson I will take, moving forward.

Has Fifi (Junia's tummy) always been around or did she just show up while you were in the house?
Well, Fifi comes and goes. I think maybe I always had her, but she was never a problem until I entered the house and had to live with a bunch of skinny girls. Nafe came up with her name and it was fun having everyone making a bit of fun of her.

But Fifi and I have an understanding and - she has to go! I plan to work on my abs.

Speaking of working out, did you enjoy the daily exercise sessions in the house?
Sometimes. Sometimes it was too hard but it is something I would like to take forward in my life.

Who do you think will win?
Well, Biggie always seems to have a way of surprising us. I really have no idea. I hope Talia, Keitta or Alex win, but whoever wins, I will be happy for them. Even Lady May, if she wins it will be a BBA first for Namibia, which will be awesome too.

Why do you think most of the house mates seem to be gunning to get Lady May out of the house?
They may feel that she is a strong character. Today she is serious, tomorrow she may be free and hyperactive - singing, dancing and making jokes. You just never know with Lady May. I think the house mates have been trying to figure her out but she's not really giving anyone a chance. I have never met anybody who is so closed off. She knows exactly what to say and what not to say and won't allow anybody to use anything against her. She is strong and I hope she makes it far.

Was there beef between you and Janette?
I have no problem with her! There was no beef. I just think sometimes when she gets drunk, she's a bit too much.

Was kissing the boys part of your strategy?
I had no strategy whatsoever! You can't keep a strategy up in the game, you can only be yourself and I had to be Junia. Fair enough. Those kisses were part of 'spin the bottle' and not really a strategy ... I just had fun.

So, do you have a different answer for us on the status of your relationship with Malonza?
We're both single and we are friends who understand each other on a whole other level. Only the two of us know how we feel.

What next for you?
I'd like to do some travelling and I hope to work on my acting career. I'd love to be on TV more, and who knows, I might even do some modelling with Fifi!

Video:Talia, A Jill Of All Trades

This evening it became crystal clear that Talia is so much more than a pretty face.

The StarGame beauty has a multitude of skills hidden behind that cool exterior of hers. Not only is she a budding guitarist but as it turns out she is also quite the talented sketcher. Today the Housemates were given a mini challenge, which is part of this week's 'Super Villains vs Super Heroes' Task, that involved sketching and the StarGamers appointed the Zambian to the take the reins on this project and what a wise decision that was on their part. Even though the sketch is yet unfinished from the bit that she had finished it was already clear that the young Upville has a lot of potential.

Previously Talia has mentioned that she would like to pursue a degree in architecture once she leaves the Big Brother House. We say go for it girl, no matter who you are or where you are from you should never stop believing in yourself and as the saying goes reach for the sky because if you fall, you will land among the stars.

Video:Alex The Booze Thief?

Today the Big Brother House seemed like something out of a Sherlock Holmes mystery book as all of the Housemates tried to solve the case of Talia’s missing bottle of vodka.

To these Housemates alcohol is like their daily bread and when a bottle goes missing there is stone that they will not turn to find it. Earlier in the day Talia played secret agent and cross examined Keagan, Kyle, Alex and Jannette but it was to no avail. But the relentless StarGame beauty refused to give up, after failing to get anywhere with the other Housemates she then concluded that her alcohol must have been stolen by Steve, Wati's intoxicated alter ego.

Little did everyone know that all along it was Alex who had stashed the bottle away and the Kenyan continued to allow Talia to suspect everyone else while he pretended as if he had nothing to do with the thievery.

But unfortunately for him Talia was like a dog with a bone and simply refused to let go of the issue and all day long she threw around accusations at almost everyone in the House until eventually this evening Alex finally caved in and confessed that he had hidden the notorious bottle of vodka under the stairs. It turns out that a drunk Talia had placed the bottle in the vase and Alex found it and hid away.

The Kenyan tried to defend himself by saying, “I was just trying to prove a point. Oh really Alex? Interesting… considering that the Upville gent swore on his mother’s life with a straight face that he has no idea where the bottle is.

Blog: Strategy or No Strategy Which Way To Go

It’s exactly twenty five days left to the end of the big brother star game, housemates have employed a number of strategies to get this far. With three and half weeks to go which is the best way to play.
At this point, some  housemates realise that their strategies fail to work and embrace new tactics of playing the game. While others are sunk by their strategies as make it to top by strategy. Some of the remaining upvillers are  as entertaining as possible.
Strategy That No Longer Work
Dominance/controlling others: This season the big brother star game house mates employed this strategy in the early days of the show. However as the number of house mates is being cut each week this strategy is less operational as the remain contestants prefare playing the game as individuals.
Bonds/ coalitions: This strategy though survived by KeaganWati and Keitta who are  the only house mates playing the game as a group is slowly dying out. This three whom Prezzo described as Musketeers are the only surviving  group in the house, in this weeks nominations, all the three nominated Namibia  rep andGoldie except for Keagan who went for Prezzo.
However all house mates claim that they play the game by being who they are and at the same time accuse their mates of being unreal, but in a critical moment like this where your fate lies in the mercy of Africa which is the best way to play the game?

News: Does Talia Love Keagan?

This evening Talia and Jannette  spent alot of time together having a  one on one from which a curious Jannette asked Talia endless questions.
The Ugandan dame was very inquisitive and made use of the opportunity she got to ask her friend all what she wanted. Specifically, Jannette’s area of interest was the love life of Talia and all the questions were raised in that aspect.
Jannette asked Talia whether she would fall forKeagan. A startled Talia told Jannette a curious Jannette that ” We  flirt sometimes but you know that I’m in love with Sey.”
Though Talia had answered the  first question, the response had not yet satisfied Jannette’s curiosity. She continued asking her more;” Have you ever been in love and had feelings for another person apart from Seydou?”
Talia tried to explain to Jannette that this was not the case with Keagan. But instead of just letting go of the matter the little princess then  queried the Zambian lass on whether or not she enjoys the Bad Boy’s company.
Talia blushed and did her best to side step this question but Jannette kept pushing and eventually Talia begged for the “End of discussion.”
We just can’t tell what Talia could be having for Keagan but the question is; Why doesn’t she want to say that she doesn’t love him openly in broad day light?
Could she be falling for the guy?

News: Would You Fall For Keagan?

News: Would You Fall For Keagan?
Does Talia secretly hold a candle for StarGame bad boy Keagan?

That was the burning question on Jannette’s mind earlier this evening. As the two ladies spent a little one on one in the bedroom the Ugandan made use of the opportunity to give her friend the third degree. “What if you fall for Keagan,”Jannette enquired.

At this query a startled Talia retorted: “We do flirt sometimes but I am in love with Sey (Seydou).” This response was still not enough to satisfy Jannette’s curiosity as she continued to press the matter further. She then asked her friend, “Have you ever been in love but had feelings for someone else at the same time?

Talia tried to explain to Jannette that this was not the case with Keagan. But instead of just letting go of the matter the petite StarGame lass then queried the Zambian on whether or not she enjoys his company.

Talia blushed and did her best to side step this question but Jannette kept pushing and eventually Talia quipped. “End of discussion.” Hmmm… Talia why are you so cagey lady? Could it be that Jannette is onto to something about Talia having some feelings for Keagan?

Would you?

News: Keagan Wants More Downville In Upville!

We thought that  Keagan and his former Downville crew have already managed to turn the once peaceful and quiet Upville  House into a House of total disorder and Mess. But it looks like it is not yet enough for the South African.
StarGame’s master of mischief Keagan wants to inject some more of Downville into Upville to completely live their former Downville  life.
Today the Housemates were given some skateboards to use in their ‘Super Villans VS Superheros task’ but as they were practicing, Keagan developed  a game out of it. He told his fellow Housemates to put off the wheels and skate on the stairs as they used to do in Downville.
Unfortunately, the fellows were not ready to follow his suggestion this time. It looked like among the present Downvillers there is no one who can make a good partner in crime for Keagan as his former partner Lee could .
Recently all the original Upvillers were complaining about the Downvillers’s behaviours. PrezzoGoldie and Lady May said that the Downvillers have  completely disorganised the House under the influence of their leader Gen. Keagan.
Is Keagan using his position as the Head of House to turn the House into a Mess?

Diary Room: Mistreating Lady May

Diary Room: Mistreating Lady May
Lady May seems to be at the receiving end of a lot of bullying.

According to Kyle, Keagan and Wati have been on Lady May's case and she does not seem to be taking it with a smile. "I wouldn't really call it bullying but they have been on her case mercilessly. People have been talking about her incessantly," Kyle revealed.

There seems to be a lot of tension in the House because of this issue and according to Kyle, Lady May has been sleeping outside for days.

"Keagan moved into the girl’s bedroom and because of this, Lady May decided to make the garden her bedroom," Kyle said.

Gossip:Will Prezzo Have Another Hair Cut

AS usual nominated housemate are given a hair do for the live eviction show. As this weeks hair do is four days away, the four nominees that had their hair done last week will still benefit from this week’s hair do since they were yet again nominated.
Though it will be an advantage to the two ladies, Lady May and Goldie  who  have hair to be washed, treated among others, i wonder whether Kyle and Prezzo who have bold heads will go for hair cuts. Won’t the two stay in bed on Sunday as the hair dressers do their thing.
Nonetheless  Kyle and Keagan seem not to run out of ideas when it comes to hair cuts. Last Sunday, Kyle decided to name his hair cut by his country Uganda unfortunately Kyle will not have his hair cut since he got to the chopping block through Keagan’s swap.
In that case Kengan and Prezzo are the beneficiaries of next Sunday’s hair do. Though the ” president” does not like keeping hair on his head but with such a bold head will the President go for his much adored hair hair cut.

Lomwe and Zeus to Grace the StarGame Stage

After spending 91 days in last season’s Big Brother Africa house (BBA Amplified), Malawi’s representative, Lomwe is expected to go back in the house, this time not as a housemate but a performer.

The 2011 finalist, real name Tendai Namate, is earmarked to perform on July 22, alongside Botswana’s housemate in the same season, rapper Game Bantsi well known by his stage name Zeus.

The news comes at a time that Malawians have been expecting artists like Armstrong, Sonye, Gwamba, Piksy and Rina to represent Malawi in one of the eviction shows this year.

Recently, there was an article that was making rounds on the internet, saying the four were probable Malawian artists to perform in the house their music is at the moment enjoying airplay in the country, but a source told Nyasa Times that “Lomwe is the one going”.

Both MultiChoice Malawi sales and marketing manager for the South, Chimwemwe Nyirenda, and the rapper confirmed in separate interviews with Nyasa Times on Tuesday.

“I got the communication from M-Net yesterday [Monday] and I will be performing a week before the final show,” said Lomwe.

Expressing his contentment, the 29-year-old rapper said, “It’s an exciting thing.”

“We have been trying very hard to get that opportunity to perform at such platform and I am very thrilled that it has finally come along,” he said.

Having represented the country as a housemate last season, and knowing that he will be going back in the house as a performer, Lomwe described the experience as a “déjà vu”, saying it would bring back a lot of memories.

This will be Lomwe’s first live performance on such international stage and TV beamed to millions of fans across Africa since he launched his music career in the 90s.

The rapper, also popularly known as ‘Nyau Killa’, who alongside Zeus recently released their ‘Double Wowza’ hit single, off their ‘Double Wowza’ mixtape, disclosed the two were happy with the support Africa is giving them.

“It’s been three weeks since we released the video on YouTube and Channel O and it’s getting good rotation. People across Africa love it and it will be a big thing performing the song live in SA,” said Lomwe.

He further disclosed that the mixtape will soon be released on the internet for fans all over the world to access the music for free.

Meanwhile, having been inactive in the country after his return from BBA, the former FM 101 radio DJ exclusively revealed to Nyasa Times that he will be taking the same lane he was before BBA.

“I have been behind the scenes planning, and now I’ll be taking steps forward. Now it’s time for people to see what I have been up to. I’ll be getting back on radio as well as club deejaying,” revealed Lomwe, but denied to mention the name of the radio.

In Malawi, Lomwe is best known for his songs ‘Nyau Killa’, ‘You don’t want it’, ‘Run the city’ and ‘Double Wowza’, which is currently enjoying airplay on local radios as well as Channel O music TV.
