Nothing personal against Mampi’
EVICTED South African representative in the Big Brother StarGame Barbz says she has nothing personal against Zambia star envoy Mampi who exited the show earlier but believes the diva’s close relationship with Zimbabwean student Maneta is the reason why the ‘Swililili’ singer made an early return home.
A fortnight ago, Maneta together with fellow Zimbabwean, musician Roki, were evicted from the house after contravening Big Brother rules on violence and provocation.
However, general opinion among viewers in Zambia is that Mampi’s close friendship with Maneta built primarily on ‘gossip’ was the reason why Africa decided to have her as the first housemate to leave the upville.
Now Barbz seems to confirm that view.
Now Barbz seems to confirm that view.
Asked what she thought of Mampi’s game style during her stay in the house following her eviction on Sunday, Barbz told the Weekend Mail in a telephone interview from South Africa following her eviction that: “I had nothing personal against Mampi, but I think her game started going wrong when Maneta moved to upville.”
Barbz, perhaps in an effort to show that she indeed had nothing against Mampi, told this reporter to say pass her greetings to the Africa Cup of Nations champion, the Chipolopolo and celebrated soccer star Kalusha Bwalya, said most people in the house were against the friendship between Mampi and Maneta.
“At first, Mampi was popular among the guys, particularly with her dancing, but the moment Maneta joined her, something started going wrong,” she said of Mampi who following her eviction told local media that the game is all about pretence.
Barbz was evicted on Sunday after a tumultuous and exciting week on Big Brother StarGame after receiving fewer country votes than Ghana’s Keitta.
Head of House Goldie’s decision to save her man, Prezzo, rather than her best friend forever Barbz, proved pivotal and the Nigerian singer’s distress was palpable as she crumpled to the couch when IK read out the South African’s name.
Following her eviction, Barbz was asked about her relationship with Ghanaian Keitta, to which she replied that she had developed a “beautiful relationship with Keitta…I have a thing for people from Ghana.”
Meanwhile, she reckons Lady May stands a good chance of eventually grabbing the ultimate prize of the M-Net reality television show. / Daily Mail
